Women’s Week at Rehoboth Beach is an annual event that draws women from all over the country for 4 days of fun and entertainment.  Women's Fest (through our own Fay Jacobs) has offered to provide ten (10) GCLS authors the opportunity to participate in book readings and signings at Proud Books (50 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach) between 10am and 2pm on Friday, April 12th at the height of Women's Fest.  The day will start with signings from 10am to noon, along with Georgia Beers, Laury Eagan, Amy Dawson Robertson, and Mari SanGiovanni who will be doing readings and signings during this same timeframeThen the GCLS authors will do readings from Noon until 1:30, followed by more opportunities for signings and chatting with readers until 3pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for GCLS authors to promote their books and mingle with readers.

Readings are limited to six-minutesPlease be courteous and respectful of each author's time and ensure that the passage you are reading is NO MORE THAN the allotted six minutes.

Authors, if you’d like to take advantage of this opportunity to promote your books and meet with readers from all over the country, this will be on a “first come, first served” basis.  After 5 authors have registered in each group / time slot, we will accept registration for up to four additional authors who will be alternates should a registered author have to withdraw.

Please contact Mary Lou Heintz with any questions.  Mary Lou will also be present at Rehoboth Beach, and she can be found at Proud Books on the day of our readings.  Mary Lou can also answer any questions that you might have about Rehoboth Beach or Women's Fest.  Email her any time.

The Mission of the Golden Crown Literary Society

The Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) is an educational organization whose mission is for the enjoyment, discussion, and enhancement of lesbian literature and creative non-fiction. Our goals are to support and strengthen quality lesbian writing by providing places for readers and writers to interact; to encourage and assist new writers and established authors to develop their craft; and to recognize and promote lesbian work.

An all-volunteer effort relying on the expertise of its members, the GCLS works to develop programs that provide ways for readers and writers to interact, to encourage and assist new writers and established authors, and to recognize and promote lesbian literary work. The GCLS is open to anyone interested in these goals.

The GCLS is continually searching for those interested in helping the GCLS grow and prosper. If you would like to serve on an advisory board, please email the director of the department you would like to work with, or contact one of the other advisory board members for more information.
